LIFESTYLE Living The Sport Pilot's Dream

American Legend has, since inception, provided mostly direct sales to its customers, knowing that it takes the right persons to represent the Legend Cub. For this reason, the company has refrained from aggressively pursuing dealer relationships. Flying and representing the Legend Cub is about making memorable experiences; it is equally important to preserve the aircraft's reputation.

American Legend's Authorized Sales Representatives are experienced tailwheel pilots, they deliver superb product support, and they bear an unmatched enthusiasm for flying and flying often. For these reasons, those who represent the Legend Cub are about as original as the legend itself.

Mike Hart of Hampton Airfield has represented American Legend Aircraft Company since July 2008. His Legend Cub (N757LC) has amassed a high number of hours, many spent training pilots in the joys of tailwheel flying. Hart was Legend's first, of four at present, Authorized Sales Representatives.

Mike Hart can be seen at annual events such as the New England Light Sport Expo in Sanford, ME; Hampton Airfield Aviation Flea Market; International Seaplane Fly-In in Greenville, ME; TJ Aviation Flight Academy open house on Minute Man Air Field (6B6) in Stow, MA; and at his home base of Hampton Airfield (7B3) in North Hampton, NH. Hart represents a six state area including New York.

LEARNING The Legend Cub Experience

Lowell "Chick" Livinghouse, and wife "Weesie," of Woodbridge, VA, are the second owners of N3737G. Since their acquisition in May 2009, the Livinghouse's have been busy refining their tailwheel flying technique. The couple's Legend Cub is based at Warrenton-Fauquier Airport (KHWY, formerly W66) in Warrenton, Virginia. Watch the Legend Cub perform, and share their experiences through a series of online videos.

NEWS 2009 In Review

The Legend Cub continues to lead the category for American-manufactured LSA. Customers have enjoyed building time in their Legend Cubs. One reason for the aircraft's success is its low cost of operation. Success is also the result of a fun and affordable product. Finding new ways to share the thrill of authentic Cub flying has always been the mission of American Legend Aircraft Company.

American Legend certified its Amphibious Legend FloatCub in July 2009. The "amphib" has since flown cross-country from Wisconsin to Maine to Texas, and was awarded “Best Take-Off” and “Cutest Darn Aircraft” following on the heels of its straight floats brethren, the Legend FloatCub, which was awarded "Best Float Fabric Seaplane Award."

In April 2009, American Legend Aircraft Company was the first to offer the new O-200-D lightweight engine from Continental Motors. The O-200 lightweight engine was incorporated into the production line replacing O-200-A for all new aircraft.

Garmin has led the market in avionics innovations for nearly two decades, and its latest GPSMAP 696 is no exception. American Legend was the first to offer a panel installation of this powerhouse, dubbing its offering the Legend "Smart" Cub.

When you think of a Cub, it's odd to equate it with EFIS and autopilot, but with a Legend Cub it is possible. TruTrak Flight Systems offers a 7-inch display integrated with autopilot roll and pitch control. It is a must-have for cross-country flying.

Rounding out 2009, American Legend launched numerous creative sales stimuli including the concept of "aeronomics," whereby it makes good sense to fly a Legend Cub for sport and recreation. The company's "Cash for Junkers" rebate incentive serves to get aircraft owners flying outside their hangar. And, to help pilots get flying sooner, AirFleet Capital offers Legend Cub financing. A cooperative ownership program by LetsFly.org enables shared use of a Legend Cub. And the new online store, shop.legend.aero, strives to spread the joy of Legend Cub and Texas Sport ownership.
