American Legend has always been on the forefront of offering the latest in avionics in the Legend Cub. Our latest "gadget" is the Garmin G3X large screen display with full primary flight display functions, plus a whole lot more. Customers can have their Legend Cub equipped with capabilities rivaling most modern business jets and most are choosing to do so.
The ability to fly at night and make use of real-time display of weather, terrain, METARs, NOTAMs, PIREPs, traffic and more is now possible in a Cub. Launch customer for the Garmin G3X equipped Legend Smart Cub concurred, "When spending time flying low, in class G airspace, and avoiding terrain and clouds, it's really nice having all the navigation, terrain, and weather on screen. The marriage of the Legend Cub with all the capability of the G3X results in an airplane that’s really fun to fly and very capable in lots of situations and flight conditions.”
The new Garmin G3X multifunction “glass cockpit” display system packs a wealth of information into a large screen display. It comes with attitude/directional guidance, electronic engine monitoring, moving-map, airport diagrams, and synthetic vision features. In a Legend Cub, the Garmin G3X gives pilots the most complete set of information available.

ADVENTURE The Legend AmphibCub Experience
With production now rolling along, the Legend AmphibCub is making waves. It took five years to deliver an amphibious float-equipped aircraft that qualified under light-sport rules. Now, the Legend AmphibCub rules the roost.

The AmphibCub from American Legend is a Legend Cub through-and-through. It's based on the high-strength Legend Cub airframe, and it features aluminum wing structures. It's a full-sized Cub too, with outstanding features including: solo flight from the forward seat, open cockpit flying with clamshell doors on both sides, 100 horsepower of giddy-up, and a wider comfortable cabin.

NOSTALGIA The Classic J3 Is All New, Yet Very Familiar
When American Legend introduced its Classic J3, the supply of quality 40's-era Piper Cubs had begun to wane. Moreover, the costs of rebuilding older aircraft had increased at the same pace as the costs of building new aircraft. The solution: The Classic J3 by American Legend—a new aircraft based on the Legend Cub, yet incorporating numerous safety improving and “slimming” features.

The Classic J3 by American Legend, a Cub with contemporary perspective.
The Classic J3 is an S-LSA certified aircraft. It comes with the same superior level of support that has made American Legend a leader in its class. Like its Piper predecessor, the Classic J3 is configured with a single clamshell door/window combination for right-hand entry and exit. Plus, it features a sliding window on the left hand side. The Classic J3 is available in a single configuration with numerous standard features. It is a contemporary aircraft with all the great flying characteristics of a Cub. The Classic J3 is priced affordably, and customers get a handcrafted, American-manufactured airplane that is without comparison in the Sport Pilot and recreational flying category.
EXPERIENCE Keeping Current From Carrier To Cub
Some pilots have all the fun. When not flying Airbus freight carriers around Europe, Trish Jackson enjoys piloting her new Legend Cub to fly-ins around her home base in Ohio, U.S.A. Jackson learned to fly at the age of 13, taught by her mother. She recalls one of her mother's life lessons when flying, “Look at these rivers. It’s like god carved them out with his finger.”
Having previously owned other aircraft, including a vintage Cub, Jackson decided it was time to purchase one new. Her first Legend Cub demo flight was more than a year ago. She shopped for two years before deciding to buy a Legend Cub. Her decision to purchase came when flying out from the American Legend factory in Sulphur Springs, Texas, to Lakeland, Florida. She added, “It was the attention to detail that sold me, and the double doors, full width back seat, and its open cockpit flying." It's hard to think of a better way to keep current with the ability to fly both carriers and Cubs.

RESTORATION An Award-Winning, Better-Than-New Original Cub
How does one bring a beloved vintage aircraft back to life? Determination, skill, and plenty of elbow grease. Sounds simple, but nothing compares to the pride of ownership of a beautifully restored vintage aircraft. And don't expect to get a ride in this beauty without first putting surgical booties over your shoes. Co-owners Tim Dahlen and Ed Katzen take great care to keep the polish on everything from its floorboard to propeller.
Affirmation of the meticulously crafted work on this vintage J3 came at the annual Sentimental Journey to Cub Haven Fly-In where Dahlen and Katzen took home the 2010 Grand Champion Award. Helping to celebrate were three equally beautiful starlets.

The Lock Haven accolades follow a 2008 Grand Champion Gold Lindy awarded at EAA AirVenture for work on a 1946 Piper J3C-65 Cub. Both aircraft were restored by American Legend Aircraft Company to better-than-new condition.
