SULPHUR SPRINGS, TEXAS, DECEMBER 12, 2008 – American Legend Aircraft Company announced today the naming of Foothill Aircraft of Upland, California, as a dealer for the company’s Legend Cub certified light-sport aircraft. Foothill Aircraft will provide a wide range of services including U.S. sales and support to Legend Cub operators in southern California and Nevada.
Foothill Aircraft Sales & Service, Inc., a premiere leader and provider of aviation sales and service, has been serving corporate and general aviation since 1952. Foothill Aircraft is located at Cable Airport (CCB), the world’s largest privately owned, public-use airport. The company’s facilities are also conveniently located six miles from Ontario International Airport, west of San Bernadino and east of Los Angeles. Foothill Aircraft will represent American Legend in the southwestern United States and provide sales to customers in California exclusively from Bakersfield south, as well as the southern Nevada, Las Vegas region.
Cable Airport is a historic part of aviation, having started in 1945, by pioneering couple Dewey and Maude Cable, and being operated today by their children and grandchildren. It is home to over 450 aircraft and is a haven for airplane watchers. As a modern adaptation of the historically significant Piper Cub, the Legend Cub will make its home at Cable introducing both young and old aviators to the joys of recreational flying.
Tony Settember, Sales Manager for Foothill Aircraft, took delivery of the company’s first Legend Cub earlier this month. This aircraft is slated for the company’s first Legend Cub customer and will be available for sales demonstration purposes at Foothill. Foothill plans delivery of a second Legend Cub to be used by a flying club for rental and training use at Cable Airport.
Settember commented on the newly formed relationship with American Legend, “The Legend Cub represents one of the most exciting aircraft on the market today, keeping the Cub idea alive and well. We are very excited to partner with American Legend as a dealer for the Legend Cub. It’s an outstanding product offering in terms of value, safety, and quality.” He continued, “The Legend Cub offers the excitement of flying for pleasure our customers are looking for. It will prove to be a great fit for them and for Foothill.”
The Legend Cub can be seen at the upcoming Cable Air Show 2009, from January 10–11 at Cable Airport. This year, the show celebrates its 34th anniversary. For more information, go to www.cableairport.com/airfair.
Kurt Sehnert, General Manager at American Legend, commented on the dealer arrangement, “Foothill Aircraft is an exciting addition to our sales and support network. The location and the historic importance of Cable Airport add significantly to our ability to spread the joy of flying the Legend Cub. I am pleased that Tony and his organization have decided to represent American Legend.”
American Legend Aircraft Company manufactures the Legend Cub, a ready-to-fly certified S-LSA. Under the Texas Sport brand, Texas Sport Aircraft Company manufactures an amateur-built aircraft kit based on the design of the Legend Cub. American Legend has delivered over 160 aircraft and kits since the first Legend Cub was delivered in August 2005.
