SULPHUR SPRINGS, TEXAS, JULY 27, 2009 – American Legend Aircraft Company announced today the availability of its Amphibious Legend FloatCub. This new aircraft is configured with floats from supplier Baumann Floats, LLC, of New Richmond, Wisconsin. The Amphibious Legend FloatCub is a certified light-sport aircraft that meets the requirements of 1,430 maximum gross weight and a simple, repositionable landing gear.
The new Amphibious Legend FloatCub is a light-sport certified version of the #1 selling American manufactured light-sport Legend Cub. American Legend completed and flew its first FloatCub, equipped with Baumann straight floats, in June 2005. This aircraft subsequently won the Best Float Fabric Seaplane Award at Sun ‘n Fun 2006. The Amphibious Legend FloatCub now gives American Legend customers the ability to change their landing site from water to land, or land to water. It has the added advantage of doors on both sides of the cockpit, giving the Legend Cub pilot and passenger easy access from either side of the aircraft.

Baumann has been manufacturing FAA certified floats since 1989, and is a recognized leader in the industry for lightweight and medium duty aircraft floats. The company provides models TSO’d for a variety of aircraft. The amphibious floats for the Legend FloatCub have been certified and tested to the same standards. The Amphibious Legend FloatCub is available now at $159,000.
The Legend Cub and Legend FloatCub are two-place aircraft designed to meet light-sport aircraft certification requirements. The Amphibious Legend Cub equipped with Baumann floats, will be on display at AirVenture 2009 in booth #38 on Knapp St. across from the Forums and Workshops.
