Exterior Paint Options

Classic Cub
In its traditional yellow paint with a black lightning bolt, the Legend Cub is a standout. When first introduced, the Cub design was available only in yellow. It is said that's because it was a color most visible from the ground. The bright yellow paint is perhaps the reason why Cubs are the most recognizable airplanes in aviation's history. Today, as before, the Legend Cub will grab the attention of fliers and non-fliers alike.

Cub Special
The Legend Cub Special was introduced in 2006 as an evolution in the Legend Cub line of aircraft. In addition to its eye-catching two-tone paint scheme, the Legend Cub Special came equipped with a variety of standard features such as a leather interior, adjustable air vents, a lighting package, larger 8.00 x 6 tires, and a Nav/Comm avionics package. Many of these features are now popular options on the Legend Cub. The Cub Special paint scheme is now an available option. $2,995.

Legend Combat
The Legend Combat revives the classic WWII liaison aircraft with its military paint scheme. It is reminiscent of the historic L-4, L-18 and L-21 produced as liaison aircraft for the U.S. Army and Air Force from 1942 to 1962. These aircraft are commonly nicknamed “Grasshopper” partly for their olive drab color, and certainly for its ability to takeoff and land on grass fields. $4,995.

Interior Options

Cloth / Vinyl Seats
The interior of the Legend Cub is the most comfortable of any airplane in its class. Plush padded seats with a full-width aft seat provide superb comfort for short hops or cross-country flying. What's not so apparent at first glance is the 3-inch wider cabin, slightly elevated forward seat, greater headroom due to less structural interference, and more forward leg room without a bulkhead fuel tank. The Legend Cub's standard vinyl seats with cloth inserts provide unmatched comfort and durability.

Black Leather Seats
For those who prefer the supple feel of natural leather, custom made, embroidered seat upholstery is available in black or gray leather.

Airbag Seat Belts

Scott 3200-type Tailwheel

Baumann BF 1500 Floats
Awarded Best Float Fabric Seaplane at Sun ‘n Fun 2006, the Legend Cub is even more fun when it's wet. A popular option on the Legend Cub is the certified Baumann model BF 1500 floats. Any seaplane pilot will tell you that landing on water is like falling into a soft pillow after a energetic day of flying. But once you've done it, it's just as enjoyable to taxi, takeoff, fly around and dip your heels again.

Tanis Preheat System

For Continental Engines
The Tanis preheat system uses threaded heat elements to heat each cylinder head on Continental engines plus a silicon element to heat the oil tank.

For Jabiru Engines
The Tanis preheat system on the Jabiru engine uses a 40-watt threaded heating element to take the place of one of the rocker cover bolts on each cylinder head and a bonded-on silicon element on the oil sump.
